Seriously, I'm up for it no matter where we decide on!
Do you have any good locations where we could meet Nola? The reason I chose Slidell, not just because of the convenience to me, but it's "nicer", safer, and has places that you'd be comfortable to hang out and look at vehicles at. As of this moment, I can't think of any real places in New Orleans where we could hang out and talk about carputers... If you have any good locations, I'm most certainly game to crossing the lake!

I see our esteemed collegue FrodoBaggins is a resident of Ruston. If Darque can make it down from the 'ham, then surely Frodo could come down from LA Tech (I'm guess that's why he's in Ruston, cuz there ain't ***** else to do up there...)

Frodo is decidedly MIA, tragically.
And I can assure you. He's not there for LA Tech.

I could think of a couple places off the top of my head where our efforts to meet would ultimately culminate in sharing a few New Orleans cocktails if anyone were interested. However I understand that for those would plan to drive back the same day, are underage, or who simply do not drink, that this wouldn't apply. I also understand that there are certainly places to get a cold beer in Slidell.
In any case, Crawdaddy, this is your gig, so wherever you want to do it... I'm game.

I was thinking Heritage Park in Slidell, or one of a few different parking lots in Slidell. However, I'm more than open to ideas in New Orleans. We also need to decide on a weekend to do this. I have all of this month open, with the exception of the 27 and 28th. The 3rd and 4th of November's also out for me. So, if people are open for any other weekends, it's all good.

I also would not be able to do it until November. I'm open all weekends of November, except for Saturday the 16th.

Good deal, another one...I knew we had to have a decent amount of carpc enthusiasts around here... Provided everyone shows up, we'll have a very respectable turnout.
It looks like we're going to be pushed back about a month judging from everyone's availabilities. When we get closer to the end of the month, I think we can set a date. Keep checking this thread LA people.

Speaking from experience, the sooner I get a date nailed-down for something, the less likely I'll have something else come up in its place that will preclude me from doing it. With that being said, I'd like to throw out a tentative date and see how it works for everyone, and see if we can't start to get this little meeting solidified...
So how does Saturday November 10th work for everyone? Looks like we would do it in Slidell since Crawdaddy has some better locations than we do here in New Orleans/Metairie.

That date is most certainly open for me. As of this moment, I'm thinking that the parking lot on Gause Road by RadioShack and Hobby Lobby would be best. Here's a link to the location: Map. This parking lot frequently has classic car shows in it, so we shouldn't get run away . I was thinking heritage park, but parking is at a premium there. It's right down the street from an O'Henry's, which if anyone hasn't eaten there before, you're in for something real interesting, and of course, it has a fully stocked bar in it .
To get to it, take I-10 coming from either direction (east or west) and then turn left if you're coming from New Orleans, or turn right if you're coming from Mississippi or thereabouts. When you're driving down Gause, stay in the left hand lane. You will see the radioshack on the corner on your left. Pass it up to the next light and make a left hand turn. Once you get past the Chinese buffet, you can make a left into the parking lot. I will be hanging out next to the chinese restaurant and between and the radioshack and the chinese restaurant. I'm driving a big blue suburban with little to no paint left on it... I'll try to stay away from other vehicles as much as possible, and may park across 2 spots just to be obvious .
Any objections or suggestions are always welcome...

heh, that would be handy, wouldn't it.... Any suggestions on when the best time would be? I'm open all day. If DarquePervert comes, he'll need time to drive down. Any suggestions on a time?

And, I'm proud to say that I actually have something to show off.
