There's nothing stopping you.
REally, once it's in your hands, it's your PC to do whatever you choose with it, although I don't recommend it as a cooking utensil or a sexual enhancement device.
Seriously, though... In your hands you can do whatever you want with it. Wipe the HDD and install a Linux Distro. Load Win98 on it and Play Doom II or Lemmings with the touchscreen. Hell you can even encase it in lucite and use it as a large, heavy, expensive paperweight if you choose.
Understand, though, that you're not going to get any support for any software other than StreetDeck from the mp3car support staff.

Considering that nobody has one in-hand yet, it's impossible to know.

Should just be like installing any other software app, so I doubt it would cause any issues, unless Infill purposely coded in incompatabilities with other front-ends.

I have a Scion tC as well, and I plan to install my (already pre-ordered) G4. You can use the stock brackets to mount the G4 in your tC, without having to take off the cover.
All you have to do is take the stock brackets and drill 2 holes on each one, 1/2 inch back from their original location. So just look at the existing holes and move them back 1/2 inch. Mount your G4, and your good to go WITH the cover.
As for the open space, there are spacer kits you can buy on eBay for $5. I got one on the way.

We are now shipping the G4s. We shipped most of the pre-orders today and the rest will go out tomorrow. Thanks for your patience during the pre-order time.

The G4 comes with a very easy to use restore CD. If you do screw up your OS or the software, all you have to do is insert the restore CD, reboot the G4 and wait about 15 minutes while the entire OS is restored to factory original settings.

Just got off the phone with the MP3Car store. My order was missing a few things apparently. :P
Anyways, the guy I spoke with said that the restore CDs are not shipping with the G4's yet, due to "Licensing issues." When they are ready, I'm sure we will all get one.
