thanks god_of_cpu i didnt have one handy and was anxious to try it I already ordered one as per your suggestion but im afraid the noise will still be there

Perhaps you should try hooking up a spare speaker to your G4 and bypass the amp. Only of course if you have a spare speaker or 2 laying around. That would help you troubleshoot the problem.

thanks voidunknown, I ordered a crutchfield adapter and when I install it I will test out your method as well, Ive been lazy

You can test my method without your adapter, right now.

It's like this

G4 ---> Front right speaker wire (+/-) ---> Spare speaker

That's it.

I didnt wanna open the car console. (take it appart) again, Id rather wait for when I have the adapter to do it all at once
