It sits on COM1 port and feeds NMEA prorocol at speed 9600. Hope this helps.

Has anyone tried connecting their G4 to their GM "On Star" factory installed GPS? Once less dongle coming out and one less thing to mount, if it works...?

What interface does OnStar GPS have? If it's USB or Bluetooth there should be no problems, if it's serial - there will be a problem because G4 does not have any externally accessible serial ports (you'll have to use one of them USB-serial converters).
If it's proprietary I'd forget about it.
Or alternatively, you can try connecting OnStar GPS antenna to G4 internal GPS receiver.

Well you'll have to connect your GPS to G4 somehow anyway, unless it's Bluetooth which I doubt.

I'm sure nobody here really cares, and already posted this in another thread, but thought it was worth connecting the dots here too. I know how frustrating it has been to waste hours reading forums where at best you see someone else ask your question, but never find the answer. Connecting the OnStar GPS antenna to G4 internal GPS receiver was exactly what I was hoping to do all along, the "one less dongle" was referring to the 1"x1" magnetic antenna sitting on my dash for the past 13 months
All I needed was a short male MCX to male MCX, found these and ordered one today.

I ordered the first one for $12+shipping from cableorganizer.com out of FL and I'll give it a shot when it comes in.
