Hi all,

I have some questions regarding the Infill G4 that I bought on the MP3Car web site:

1- I did not received any drivers CD with the unit. Do you know if and when all the drivers will be available from MP3CAR (I found some on the internet but since I do not have any recovery CD I am a little bit worried to use them...)

2- I tried to use the unit without using Streetdeck. Since I did not receive any other CD then the Windows XP I do not have any applications to use outside Streetdeck as a radio tuner or to simply to be able to tilt the screen.... I assume that the company who made that thing provided some king of interface in order to do this....

3- Can you tell me when the recovery CD will be available for the unit ?

1. Raw drivers will not be provided. We have an agreement with Infill to not provide these drivers. This has been discussed in numerous other threads if you would like to read more about it.

2. The unit you purchased from the store here is designed to be used in conjunction with StreetDeck. We do not provide support if the unit is used outside of these bounds.

3. This question has also been asked numerous times in various threads. The CD is still in beta testing and will be released once it is out. We do not have a date set at this time for this release.

Second I want to sincerely apologise if I asked you questions that was answer in other threads. I am a kind of person who normally will search for an answer before asking the same question again but it seem that I missed those .... Sorry !


Now about your answer..

Since it was clear from the beginning that Streetdeck will be shipped in the package, I assumed that we will not be bounded to use it as our front end and that all the necessary default drivers will be available for us .

I never read anywhere before buying the unit that you had that agreement with Infill to not provide those drivers. I think the fact that "this been discussed in numerous other treads" like you wrote to me prove that I was not the only one thinking that way....

I can understand that you what us to use Streetdeck in our unit since it is your baby (witch is, by the way, well made ) but I am sure that you can understand as well that we might want to use another front end, it is only a question of personal preference, no offence intended on your product.

I also read in other treads that you were in the process of making the recovery DVD before I asked for it .

I only asked for a date in order to figure out when I might be able to try to experiment with my unit and installed other software's (front end or others) on it knowing that I have a way out if I screw up something. Of course, I did took a backup of the unit as soon as is arrived but I rather have a "official' restore method available before I play around with it.

no need to apologize. Just letting you know that you can find other information out there if you want to learn more.


I understand that people might want to use another front end. However, at Infill's request we can't release the drivers. This is not something that MP3Car.com decided to do to limit people to only using StreetDeck.


Call the store and let them know you want a copy of it.
