TOO COLD to start

Does anyone get the "TOO COLD" message from your infill? I have gotten it a couple of time and curious to what the actual temperature the Infill will not allow cold starts.

I also assume there is a "too hot" message as well. Anyone know what that temperature might be?

I also had the too cold a few weeks back, only once or twice though. Leave the heater blowing extra hot seemed to speed up the delay

I've had too hot, I turn on the AC full blast and it fixes it. I too wonder if I am doing damage. It has been really hot lately and mine wont turn on now, just says system on forever, that might not be the same problem but it could be.

Internal temp of the car below -15C and the low temp comes up.

I have noticed that when temp reaches the right level, sometimes the infill doesn't continue to boot, so rebooting the infill is necessary.

I plan on trying to replace the HDD with an SSD and disabling the temp monitor, to see if there are any problems, since the HDD and screen are the two temperature sensitive components and the screen seems to function "ok" in the cold. I am uncertain how well the touch portion of the screen will work at those temps, however.

Talker, what I did last year was put a car window heater/blower under the infill where the storage pocket is in my passat. It gets it up to temp very quickly.

7 below freezing and you are complaining? Grant it, the G4 isn't perfect, but I question if my laptop would start if I left it outside over night in below freezing weather and I spend considerably more money on it. But, we are all allowed to have our own opinions. Sorry the G4 hasn't worked out for you. If you decide to part with it I'm sure it will find a good home somewhere (perhaps somewhere warmer)

It's a front-end replacement that is supposed to just work. I doubt the systems like Sync in Fords fail to turn on when it's a little below freezing. This is just one of many problems with the G4.

My setup is with a "normal" desktop board and I've had situations where my drive would not spin up when it was around 32 degrees F.
