Where can i get a replacement GPS antenna?

Had a local car audio shop pull out my Infill G4 from my old car & put it in my new car (trade-in). They forgot to take the GPS antenna out of my old car.

Needless to say, they've tried every GPS antenna they have in stock, and apparently Infill is using some abnormal antenna? Anyone know where i can buy a replacement unit? I've already sent an email to the mp3car team, but haven't heard back.

thanks!

i've tried that, and frankly, i'm very close to wishing i would have never done business with you guys.

Quick rundown: i email the store asking for a replacement antenna. it takes over 2 days to get a response (since you do email only & don't want to list a phone number - shady clue #1). When i get a response, i get a link to a page for the Infill G4 Remote control. I reply to you guys that i don't want the remote, i want the GPS Antenna. another 2 days later i get an email response back that the page shows remote, but that you use it for older & other non-supported products anymore. Even though i was wary since the page listed an item at a near $50 price (GPS Antennas are usually $15), i was willing to do what it took to work with you guys to get this antenna. I even received email confirmation from an associate there (no name in email listed from your end - shady clue #2) stating specifically that i would receive a GPS Antenna even though the page shows a remote.

i pay, submit order.

week later, i get a package. and inside of it? a remote.

words cannot express how upset i am right now. i can't imagine that you guys have the volume so big that you'd be able to mess that up. I'm very put-off that you no longer have a phone number for support or customer service, i'm not happy about 2-day turnaround time on email replies, and i'm not happy that your associate without a name will tell me one thing, then do another.

it's up to you guys to make it right. ball is in your court. you have my email as i've sent numerous ones. please fix asap. i've spent a lot of money with you guys, and you don't seem to want to take care of your customers. not happy about that.

Just quoting this, cuz I'm feeling the same way about an unrelated issue, and everything I quoted echos my feelings.

The ironic thing is, when I called over a year ago, the guy I talked to was really helpful & friendly, some of the best customer service I'd ever experienced. Up until I tried to call a couple weeks ago, I was pretty much pleased with my purchased and really happy with mp3car store in general, and happy to recommend them to everyone who asked about my g4 (which lots of people do). I didn't even know they'd discontinued phone support until I tried calling then, and their "better" customer service thru email is BS, and their automated response about next business day is also BS.

And the fact I'm reminded how annoyed I am every time I drive my car and don't even have a working radio and bored with the silence just reminds me how annoyed I am. You think not having working GPS is annoying (which it is!), imagine having to drive around in dead silence.

Sorry to hijack.

sure

if you didn't already know, the Infill was one of the first all-in-one's they sold.... a double-din complete PC, with no external modules or anything. it's much like the "Guru" thing they're selling now.....

what they sent was this:

what i need is something like this:

i've already purchased 5 different GPS antennas before i came back to mp3car asking them. apparently the Infill is using some rarer or proprietary GPS antenna plug. as such, i have no idea how to know which one to get. Infill has no documentation, and no contact information anywhere. I've spent over $140 on antennas trying to find the correct one. All of the antennas usually cost between $10-$20 from all of the online sources. Mp3Car's replacement was $50 (profit margin much?)

so yeah i'm still looking for one. if someone has a confirmed Infill G4 antenna (not just a generic GPS antenna), i'll buy it. thanks in advance!

I wish I knew of a connector for ya, have you tried GPSCity.com? I would E-mail them the specifics of what you're looking for. sales@gpscity.com - I E-mailed them at 12:30AM on a Tuesday and got a response back at noon before regarding my GPS product question.

Since the part isn't what it was suppose to be will MP3Car.com take a return for 100%?

Hi ABTsportsline,

Just shipped the correct antenna overnight to you yesterday. It should be there today. Once again, thanks for your patience and understanding in this matter.

got it - thanks dude! very much appreciate your communication on the matter. If the rest of the employees there cared about customers as much as you did, i think mp3car might be successful in the future.

jpinkerton & others - thanks for your help, we're good now.

Hi again ABTsportsline,

I appreciate the compliment. Still, it should be known that all employees here do care about our customers. Sometimes just being able to allocate someone responsible to customer support issues is what it takes to effectively deal with support problems.

Glad to hear you're satisfied.
