External Apps

As you know, it remains problems with external applications.

I'm searchin' hardly new ideas to avoid theses problems and i think i've found a new way to embed other apps, so i'll try to make changes for alpha 2b. (another 90% bugfix / 10% new functions release).

I also will add a new option to organize external apps in categories, by just entering a custom category for each app. Then NMC will make a list of categories and sort applications in subfolders on the apps list. I think its a good idea, and not difficult to implement.

I think i will add a custom "timeout" parameter for each external app (some big apps are loading too slow on little systems).

Unfortunately, lots of things sounds good before releasing.. after this, i see that some of my solutions are not working on others systems and that's ****.

all sounds good m8.. I've finished most of the busy work I had to do, so have a couple of weeks taking it easy. I will finish my BMW skin sometime, and also do a skin for D3 to match. Can I once again thank you for all your hard work.. In the last month or so NMC has come on leaps and bounds.

No problems man, it's not only for you but first, it's for me

I'm thinking of stopping adding new functions and exclusively optimize and debug actual version till i'm happy with the code. I think i can free a LOT of ressources and avoid lots of bugs by stopping 1 week or so and only optimize..

What's your opinion guys ?

That would be very nice, as on my MII 12k, I have not enough resources to run NMC smooth enough

I want to stick with my MII, for power, heat and size AND I would like to be able to use NMC as the software (also in the future, you know what I mean netsuo

)

It's probably a good thougt only debugging for the moment. Here with me, Alpha2 is working far better than Alpha2a. Now I can test with my MIIk and Lilli again, I will be testing on this system alone because that's the one I will use in my car. Maybe it's even better to debug step by step (if possible) and release in-between-exe files to see if things work out the way you want. We can give you feedback of all our different systems in a much better to overlook situation then ?

We appreciate all the work you (... and the skinners etc ...) do and will give as much support if we can.

Just a thing: i have changed showing of "loading screen" to stay shown as long as the module is not 100% loaded and ready, this was'nt the case in the Alpha 2. So it's possible that you *think* its slower.

But its possible that this version is slower, in this case i cant find why, because i've not added a "memory hungry" function and also no change on the code this way..

In general, i'm NOT satisfied with the current code, lots of unused funxtions are in the modules, code is not very optimized and my last optimisation was after 0.6 version. NMC is now totally different.

So in all case this NEED rework. And this WILL pay. I just need enough time to be fully happy with my code structure
