Thanks for the advice, am really new to this, so please bear with me!

I've created a clock.png file from a bmw logo, and have set the size so that it matches the original file. But I don't know how to set the transparency. What software do you use? I was just playing with "preview" but am guessing i'll need to use real software.

yeah my buddy makes all the graphics with photoshop. I'm sure there are free alternatives that can make a png with transparency (try GIMP) or use graphic converter (shareware but i think the trial will work) also just to be safe preserve the capitalization in Clock.png

you can use preview to do transparency, with Leopard:

within a build or two there will be an option to select your car logo so you wont have to replace anything.

Very cool to see another Mac FE in the works. I have an older Mini (w/ Panther OS), so I'll have to do an upgrade to Leopard before I can actually test out your app. In the meantime I will pitch in a few ideas that are of interest to me. Sorry if they have been mentioned, discussed, implemented, etc. as I have yet not done my research (or seen screenshots, where are they?!).

- ability to edit the songs ratings (same 5 star scale iTunes uses)
- ability to pull off unwanted buttons from the main interface, I really only need access to my music, movies, photos and your apps settings (I think you support this?)
- color changing slider sounds very cool
- definitely touch screen support, but support for external devices such as the powermate should be considered as well
- display album artwork when the song is playing
- the keypad to enter first couple letters of artist/song/album name and have the list start filtering sounds very cool

I plan on upgrading to Leopard here shortly, so once I get your app and play around with it I can offer some more specific input. Keep up the good work!

right now the only way to completely remove unwanted buttons is to go into the app bundle and manually move/delete unwanted modules

alternatively you may rearrange NBBs buttons to any order you see fit around a "dial" which can be rotated to hide modules you may want occasionally but for whatever reason don't want visible

it is

done, but only works if the album art is embedded (mp3 and AAC only)

that is does. unfortunately it has not yet been implemented

working on it. the next build will at least allow the mouse to be hidden.

hadn't thought of this yet I'll have to mull it over. thanks for the advice.

oh and thank you for your interest in our front end. check back often for updates I average one major one a week with some bug fix releases (which im about to post now actually) throughout the week

ladams, I'm running an old G4 1.4 with Leopard on it no probs, it flys with 1GB RAM.

I didn't think people even rated their music? always saw it as a bit of a gimick. I can see it in use on an iPod, but not in a car (rate music while driving?) maybe not everyone will use NBB in a car.. hrmmm.

I do rate my music, but not in the standard context (and i do it in my car with my ipod). When i get new music it usually comes in the form of a ton of songs i dont want to sort through right at that moment so I have smart playlists that coincide with a rating (ie. 5 is for all my non-electronic music i really like, 4 stars is for only electronic music i really like, and 3 stars is for my more laid back "chill" music, and 1 star is for the crap i want to delete but usually forget about when cleanup time rolls around).

I personally would like to make something like this a function and we will see if it is a possibility in the near future.

Yeah I definitely take rating my songs very seriously. I adjusted the scale a little bit though. Basically every song comes in to my library at a 2. Then I drop to 0 if the song is broken for whatever reason (used as a cleanup to fix bad files), 1 if it is absolutely horrible and I don't want it to appear on any playlist, 2 is default, 3 for good songs, 4 for great songs, and 5 for my personal favorite songs.

I also adjust my ratings while driving (currently using my ipod!) and it is pretty much as bad as txting while driving. If I could have a simple touch screen star system that would be ideal.

Thanks for the hard work. I'm looking forward to future releases.

Each time i exit the app, its loses any configuration changes I made (ie colour and apps), is retaining the settings something that's in the pipeline? Or is it just my macbook thats playing up?
