I've never been able to get artwork to show on mine either.

I got 3 scenario's either:

Artwork (music purchased directly from Itunes)
Yellow sticky with "no artwork" message (music converted to mp3's in windows, then artwork added using itunes)
blank space (music converted to mp3's artwork added in windows using (tag n rename)

Edit ** Posts overlapped with your response **

wow there are alot of quirks with album art. I would sure like to look at a song that makes nbb go blank tho. shouldn't ever happen unless it finds the artwork but for some reason cant render it (NBB only supports jpg and png) if you passed the file my way i could find what format it is in and do something about it.

the artwork added with itunes will show up in release 6. I don't know what to do about the blank ones without an example file to reference.

wow see what happens when you help me? I fixed the blank artwork issue the F***in reason for it was cuz jpeg /= jpg
that issue is now fixed and will be in the release 5B that I am preparing right now. should be released in a day or two

Also I hate to break it to you but that album art in that sample that was sent to me is smaller than a post stamp and will show up as such in NBB.

I had a chance to use the new version with key bindings on the way home today. If there were just a few more bindings, I could operate NBB on the Powermate.

Also, I used spaces to swap back and forth between NBB and my Nav program. I WISH there was a way to do that programmatically, but I guess you can't trigger a spaces swap. I had to hit ctr-arrow to slip back and forth between the two.

yeah I'm working to expand the key bindings for release 6. I will also look into triggering spaces programatically. Im sure at the very least it could be scripted

If that doesn't work, just make the play window transparent so I can see through it to the app below. A click would make it return to opaque.

Yo Neon! Hey i've been playing around with the app quite a bit and think its dope. I think it would be cool if there was a more efficient way to scroll through the artist whether it be up and down arrows on the right hand side or the alphabet down the right side. I just find myself getting stuck scrolling back up after I drag down through the artist or songs. Thanks for you time.

have you tried setting the scroll as you drag in the music prefs? I'm curious as to how well it works on very large libraries so it would be cool if you could tell me what you think.

also I am working on a virtual keyboard for use in various modules that could be used to type say an f to jump to the first f in the list. if you have anykind keyboard in your car this function already works.

Im also playing around with the idea of an iphone like vertical alphabet to quickly jump to different letters.

Rotary Controller Blues

I mentioned in another post that I wanted to get NBB working with my Contour Design ShuttleXpress rotary controller. The problem I'm running into is that the Shuttle application that connects the controller with the particular program you use it in seems to look for what the frontmost active program is. However, neither Front Row nor Neon Boombox appear to show up like that. So, I have to set the controller to use Global Settings. All would be fine, except that Front Row and NBB use different key bindings, and I don't have enough buttons to emulate them all. Is there a reason that NBB doesn't "come to the front"? Or is there some way I can get the Shuttle controller to recognize that it should use the NBB set rather than the Global set?
