1.0 RC 2 is out. I built it with a new build of the radio module included this time so be sure to test it out if you have an XM radio. The radio module will still not be in the 1.0 final but will remain available as a separate download once we get our site put together

1.0 RC 4 is out along with a NEW radio module.

the new radio module should fix a potential crash regarding the audio input.

the table columns are now sortable. I have yet to make a custom table header for NBB so the standard OS X one is used at the moment. when i do get a custom one built it will likely find its way into the other modules so that you may sort those columns as well.

You may also notice that there is a signal strength indicator in the top left corner, but right now it is not graphical. text only

the next build will include graphical signal indicators and new and improved table graphics that look less junky.

1.0 RC 5 is out.

I think I have finally squeezed every last bit out of the module loader. If you compare it to 9A or so you will see that launch time has been cut in half!

Once again the radio module is included for testing purposes. This build of the radio module concentrates on radio detection. Before NBB would make a best guess and go with it, and that doesn't work well at all with multiple serial devices. This build will actually test the devices before choosing one. unfortunately that testing currently happens on the main thread so the first time you launch the radio module NBB will hang for a bit. (the more serial devices you have the longer the wait)

subsequent launches will be almost instant as the radio module now remembers the last radio device used. The radio module will also remember the last station you were on instead of tuning to channel one each launch.

P.S. I'm taking radio module interface designs if anybody wants an input into the design of the final interface.

no problem. FYI the format and amount of time date info is user customizable.

Did this build fix any of your problems?

Still having the inconsistent control button background on the Now Playing screen. Also, the last couple of releases have not had the proper volume level indicator. The volume changes with the touch screen or from my Apple Remote, but the volume bar stays blank - no rising or falling bars for the volume indication.

k, I just fixed the volume indicator it was a simple typo.

I cannot seem to duplicate your problem with the player controls. I am using the smallest resolution possible on my MBP (800x500) and it is fine every time no matter what I do.

Can you please walk me through your process from launch to the problem to see if I can duplicate it?

posting a screenshot (apple+shift+3) and the console output from launch to the problem would be great too.

new XM build

1.0 is almost done and will probably be released this weekend.

i have been working on the XM module over the past 2 days trying to get all the thread synchronization kinks ironed out.

If you are interested here is a new build of the XM module that is in need of more testing then i have time or ability to attend to. It will probably only work with the XM PCR but once again if you have a Direct or commander I am interested in getting the module compatible with those models as well, but I have only the PCR so you will have to work closely with me testing different things. Bugbyte has been kind enough to help me get to the point where I can detect the XM Direct but I have not yet been able to initialize it for communication. Please PM or email me if you can/want to help with XM direct support.

almost there...

anybody who cares, particularly those of you having problems with the current build, please give this latest one a through beat down. If nobody speaks up with problems this will be the final 1.0 minus some minor mostly interface tweaks.

As a reminder the radio module is included for interest sake, but IS NOT going to be released in the final 1.0 package. It will of course be down-loadable as an add on. v1.1 will have a function to install modules by double clicking them/drag and drop to the NBB icon, so it won't be a pain to install new modules.

ok well nobody piped up so I guess I made it to 1.0 final. I added a small bonus today, v1.0 will allow double click/drag and drop installation of modules! so for those of you who want to download and install the BETA radio module all you have to do is download it and double click its that easy.

that feature was to be in 1.1 but since it was less than 10 lines of code and some packaging changes I decided to include it in 1.0 for ease of installing the yet to be finished radio module. also you may notice that NBB modules now have their own icons! We are starting to look more professional

the packaging for NBB has also changed to a DMG format. Please read the SLA, don't worry it doesn't bind you to anything, mostly there to absolve us of any damage.

in the coming weeks i will be updating the packaging yet again to include a read me, hopefully with links to video tutorials and FAQs and a complete list of all the people we owe thanks too, etc.

please go get 1.0 from the web site. enjoy
