what do you want to see in 1.2?

aside from the global controller and iphone-esqe scrolling, cuz i don't know if and when i can get that working properly, what would you like to see in the 1.2 release?

would anyone be interested in designing an OBD2 interface for me? please and thanks

Everyone seems to like customization. While ultimately that might mean being able to skin it, is there a way you can allow people to simply point NBB to a png file with a car logo or whatever they want to create? Then, make the file show up at certain places in the program (like when loading or in a menu bar or as a background or used by the visualizer)?

Between the color schemes and ability to add a logo, at least you can make it a little more specific to your car.

yes image substitution has been planned just not implemented. obviously if one were really driven to replace certain images they could just replace the appropriate PNG file inside the application bundles resource directory.

the solution in the works right now is using the NBB .skin bundle to specify images for replacement in the .theme file. i see no reason why it won't make it into 1.2

Very cool. Yes, of course you can replace the graphics in the app bundle but making it easy to do using the app itself is even cooler.

hrm.. define easy. because while installation of the .skin bundles is as easy as drag and drop, it will require you to construct a .theme (XML) file to specify which image to replace and with which image. That is going to require a trip into the app bundle to find the images to be replaced.

For everybody who simply wants to add a logo to the clock and doesn't have or know how to use an image editor; I could make it so NBB does all the compositing so that it doesn't require photoshop, but you will still need to make the .skin bundle and .theme file.

OBD would be very nice, since my car doesn't have a trip computer. Bluetooth talk-through would be good, too, if you can figure it out with the iPhone.

Easy is choosing a "customize" option from the menu and browsing to the file you want to use and selecting "okay" and NBB remembers it.

But if you're having trouble deciding, I vote for ODB2 as well!

yeah that is easy. I am all for application ease of use, but since this isn't really a day to day use case it will probably always have to be accomplished through a .skin bundle. Its just the easiest way to offer a large degree of customization, plus its very extensible.

seems that is popular enough to make it in the next version
anybody who has ever used this feel like sketching up an interface??? I don't know where to begin.

looks like DVD playback is in too. just researched it today and it looks like it will be pretty easy so there may be room for a bit more in 1.2
