My Car PC setup with M4 ATX

Friends,

I have bought a M4 ATX Power supply and decided to go with the following config. for my new Car PC. Please let me know will 250w enough for this and also provide your suggestions.

Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-EG31MF-S2
Graphics: Sappire HD 4350 512 MB
RAM: 2*1 GB DDR2 RAM
Proc: Intel E6700
HDD: 300GB Seagate SATA 7200.8
Wi-Fi+Bluetooth 2 in 1 adapter
3MP CCD Webcamera
16GB USB Pen Drive

So my question, will the above setup can be handled by M4-ATX? If I connect any DVD Drive or 60mm fans, will it be OK?

Any suggestion for a better processor like E7300/Q6600 over this?

What are you using for sound??
Your likely going to run ito problems, especially if you use PCI sound card.
One word: OPUS

um depending on your climate i would stick with a lower power setup and one that generates less heat. I chose and intel board with the atom chip integrated, im using the onboard sound and video with 256md of video ram, 2 gig ddr2 memory, and 16 gig SSD hard drive etc etc and my machines run of less then 1.5 amps and runs cool even with ambiant heat in the car. OPUS or Mini-Box are great but im going to tell you that if your gonna run a quad core cpu with the choice of video card you made you gonna need more power then a M4 ATX can give you.

My desktop is a quad cored and i have an equivelant geforce 9800 and i use a 650 watt power supply and it runs at peak all the time so if your trying to use a 300 wat M4 ATX i would see if you can put 2 in there cause you will need both

I am not limited by the space factor as I can install 10 more desktop PCs in my car boot(its TATA SAFARI). So I choose a Micro ATX Cabinet.

Currently I am not going to use any Sound card, but may be a ASUS Xonar in future if power permits.

The graphics card is a low profile one and it takes only 20w at maximum load.

The Motherboard is the best energy efficient one and my proc is Core 2 Duo E6700/7200. As per the review in http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/...1,2039-13.html the motherboard and proc takes maximum of 70w at full load.

Will I am fine? Should I need to switch to a 2.5" SATA HDD instead of a 3.5" HDD?

Will I need to use E7200 instead of E6700?

Not so much the load of the PCI card as the vibration. Just make sure you have it bolted down firmly. I've dealt with several threads over the past years where they thought the hard drive was bad and it turned out to be a PCI card or power connection.

No need for such proc power. Use a MB which has most of the stuff integrated.

No plan for external sound card now.

The motherboard is an energy efficient one and as per http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/...1,2039-13.html the board with E7200 will take only 70w at max. load.

The graphics card is a fanless low profile card and it takes only 25w at maximum load.

So I have 150w left.

Will I need to use a 2.5" HDD instead of the 3.5" HDD?

And the external USB Hub is self powered. Will I need to change to E7200 instead of E6700 (I have a spare E6700 with me!!!)

No friend, I cant trust the atom proc. as I will do some graphics works, need to run two external headrest monitors (dual display).

Firends,

I bought a new 10.4 touchscreen LCD Display today. It has a film attached to the screen with lot of bubbles. It looks weird and ugly. Is it the protective film or anything for the touchscreen functionality? Can I remove the film, will it affect the functionality of the touchscreen. please guide me.

It sounds like it's the cling wrap type of plastic cover to protect the screen. You can remove it.

Why not contact the people that you bought it from? It still looks like a protective film to me, but maybe you should contact them?

If the seller doesn't know, do you really expect someone here to?

Maybe you should start by linking to the seller page, or giving a brand name... you know, some real information about the screen.

Other than that, you tell us. Is it possible to remove it?

Looks like you pealed a bit in the lower left corner. Is it sticky on the screen where you took the protective film away, or clean. If its clean than its just a protective cover and you can take the rest of as well. If it is a sticky surface than your not meant to take it off.
The difficult in getting it off is also because it has a static charge.
