How is this set up so far?

I am slowly putting together a list of components I need for the system for my A4 Avant, and so far have the following:

GIGABYTE GA-73PVM-S2H Micro ATX Intel Motherboard
Intel Celeron E3300 Wolfdale 2.5GHz 1MB L2 Cache LGA 775 65W Dual-Core Processor
Kingston 2GB (2 x 1GB) DDR2 800
Western Digital Scorpio Black 320GB 2.5" SATA 3.0Gb/s Internal Notebook Hard Drive
LITE-ON Slot Load Slim CD/DVD Burner Black SATA Model DL-8ATS
Cirago BTA-3210 Micro Bluetooth Dongle support Bluetooth 2.1
TRENDnet TEW-424UB USB 2.0 Wireless Adapter
BU-353 Weather-proof GPS Receiver
M2-ATX 160 Watt Intelligent Power Supply

Still trying to decide upon a screen, I had hoped a 10" would fit, but think I am going to be limited to an 8". Also not sure on FM/HD/Satellite radio yet.

Ultimate goal is going to be for a mid-end SQ based system, possibly with 5.1, and want the ability to run an active set up and use time alignment/processing etc.

Any comments? Am I on the right track, or should I scrap the list and start again?

Thanks.

That motherboard has some of the best onboard audio quality around, so that's a good choice, assuming you don't mind the larger form factor of micro-ATX instead of mini-ITX. It has 7.1 audio, which is enough channels to do a 3-way active setup, plus subwoofer channel.

The Pentium E5300 has better specs, and is only a couple dollars more.

looks like you are on the right track, for anything more than a factory sound system, i would recomend a addon sound card-- pci/pcie would be better than usb/firewire, but usb/fire wire will work if you don't have the space.

look in the car audio sections for ideas on audio processing-- there are many different solutions.

Thanks both, I am not sure on the exact dimensions yet, but pretty sure I have plenty of space to work with micro-ATX (I think I saw the dimensions of that motherboard as around 9" x 9", which should hopefully fit) and a pci/pcie sound card. I am hoping to mount the PC in the right side of the trunk, currently in that space is a Bose Amp, Sub etc. When I install the carputer I plan to remove all of the Bose system.

Is the Creative Sound Blaster Audigy SE 7.1 Channels PCI Interface Sound Card a recommended sound card? Heading over to the car audio sections forum now to do some more reading.... oh how I wish I had the $$$ to go out and order all this today!
