Question stock amp/sub to carputer in 2007 suzuki sx4

Ok. I searched and searched the forums..and I didnt see this question or answer..

I currently have a 2007 Suzuki SX4 with stock radio and everything.

I recently posted up my proposed setup.. i plan on using this computer http://store.mo-co-so.com/barebones4...ter-p-179.html

I am going to be getting rid of my stock radio, and put the touchscreen monitor in its place. Since I am going to get rid of my stock radio, I will need a way to connect my computer up to my stock speakers/amp/sub.

I had done some searching on some other suzuki sx4 websites and have yet to find an answer to this. I found some pictures though.

Here is the picture of the stock harness that connects to the stock Radio
http://i40.photobucket.com/albums/e2.../connector.jpg

and here is an example of what the connector for the stock AMP looks like
http://www.groucho.org/albums/album15/line2.jpg

Do you think there is a way I can still use this stock amp or should I just go ahead and buy a new amp and replace the stock one? If you think I should replace it, can you please give me some suggestions on what I should replace it with? Not looking for a bunch of sound... not looking for alot of bass either.

Please move this to the correct forum if I put it in the wrong one.

PAC-Audio makes adapters to connect to stock audio systems.
There are other manufacturers out there, as well.

Time to get Googlin'!

You never found that link, did you? Why? It's hard to find in the NavBar across the top of the forums, amongst a lot of other crap.

TELL MP3CAR YOU WANT A LINK TO THE FAQ IN A MORE OBVIOUS, NOTICABLE LOCATION HERE.

according to this ebay listing:
http://cgi.ebay.com/Suzuki-SX4-07-20...QQcmdZViewItem

it looks like your stereo sends speaker level sound to the amp, and the amp distibutes it to the speakers, so, if you are removing the headunit, you will need to get aftermarket amp.

double check with other suzuki owners before buying anything though.

I am in the same boat, trying to figure out how to get sound from the PC to the inputs on the Bose amp in my A4. I am pretty sure that the head unit sends a low level signal to the Bose amp, so I am trying to figure out a way to get from the high level output of the sound card, to a low level input for the amp (which may be buried in an FAQ here that I have not yet read).

PAC-Audio do not list any parts for an A4 that can do this for me, and so far I am having no luck on car audio/audi forums.

Good luck with your search!

thats what I was thinking. I had done a little more research into this and went outside and looked at my amp under my seat.. and checked the FAQ's here about amps and what not..and realized I needed the RCA inputs on the amp (according to the FAQ), which my amp does not have..so therefore I have to get a new amp. Which then, after removing the factory stereo, I can route the cables from the pc to the amp (via RCA), and then hook my speakers to that amp... and hopefully be good to go at that point.

Pac-audio was also a no go for me... they only list one thing for the SX4 and it has nothing to do with the stereo, and google didnt help either...

Thank you for all your help.. From the looks of the FAQ it seems like I need a 4 Channel amp. Anyone have any suggestions on which one I should get? I've never been into the whole amp/subwoofer/bass/big sound system type of thing...so I dont even know what is good and what is bad.. much help would be appreciated.

i think it is safe to assume that you have at least 4 speakers, but if the amp splits up the signal to any other speakers, than you might need more than just a amp, or a different type of amp.

i would really recomend asking on suzuki forum, for what your options are to replace the factory stereo and amp. just try to explain what your doing, and that you really just want to replace only the factory headunit, and the external amp.

Great. Thank you Soundman98. I will head over to some of the SX4 forums that I am part of and give them a go at it.
