Hi all

I've been interested in making a carputer for quite some time. In the past I have made a few attempts at mp3 players hooked up to 4x40 and 4x20 character displays. earthlcd.com was a place I kept checking out for inspiration. As time went by I gave up on mp3s in the car and moved to a Sirius subscription.

My Tacoma still has the stock radio in it. I have been looking at in-dash DVD players but declined since I wanted a system that would display Sirius info on the screen. That's how I found this place. I followed a few links that mentioned Sirius hardware mods and Road Runner plug-ins. Well, it looks like I found a new favorite place to hang out. I'll be sure and read as much as possible before asking dumb questions. I'm looking forward to building my first full-blown car computer that will have Sirius, wifi, GPS, DVD, and hopefully ODB-II info.

And just so you know, Mitch makes quite a few different sirius-->usb boards so you dont have to use the SIR-ALP1, but it is the best for the situation because the holes line up well, and best car reception (the entire car line, not the plugnplay or portable or anything but mitch does make interfaces for those too). Sirius works seamlessly for me.
