PC...... Which platform to use

I am unsure which way to go.

All of my Computer knowledgable friends say i should be heading towards a Mac. But the only people i have found that will work on a car pc dont use Mac.

My laptop isnt a Mac and i am always having issues with it crashing or doing silly things, and my friends say that would never happen with a Mac.

What way would you recommend and why

Erm....look in my signature for my solution.

I use a MacMini, with dualboot (via bootcamp) WinXP, and it boots fast, runs real well, mine's a core duo 1.83gig setup.

Small footprint, easy to setup/install/use, great little box

IMHO the best for a decent CarPuter.

Should have bought mine before everything else!

Good luck with your setup.

I want to try run some features from mine that might make the answer of which way i go for me anyway.

I want to get a program made for my pda phone that allows me to control some features of the car when on display at shows.

This is a Windows Mobile 5, soon windows Mobile 6. wireless or bluetooth connection.

Would this alter my decision.

I havnt found anyone that wants to work with a mac car PC install.

does anyone recommend anyone

Look at Innobec Sidewindow, it may help with you question. I use this to extend my Carputer's display to my PDA.

For remote control, there's some nice sofware out there.

Small steps, have a clear goal in mind for each.

Use what you are most comfortable with, they each have limitations.
