Red face Sound Quality

i have a question concerning sound quality using sound card - pre amp - 2 amplifiers. im pretty big into car audio competition and would love to keep my db range and im wondering how good is sound quality. i have a 2000 jetta and the only way to put the screen in my dash would be to remove the aftermarket cd player i use and i dont really want to lose it but would love for the carputer to take its place but i need to know if im going to have the blues on this subject. also when this procedure is done is it best to run the speaker rca cables into the trunk with an amp and then speaker wire back under the dash to avoid running all new speaker wires plus the car has a factory "amp" which really is just a crossover. something tells me after some tuning that this setup could have higher sound quality

Quality is readily achieved with a carputer if you have the cash. Digital output soundcard with a digital input amp with quality drivers to suit. A standard sound setup using 3.5mm headphone jacks like most people here is all thats needed to be at the same DB level as the HUs, your amps will do the rest. DB is pretty different to quality though, if you want to beat the HU quality you will have to spend the cash and go digital. Non digital carputer setups have won DB comps.

i love it, i was thinking add a touch screen flip out above the hu but then i would have to run the pc in the trunk with the subs ( hard drives would get expensive ) but i love the way the "double din" screen looks with the pre fabbed volkswagen bezel and that might leave space for the carputer behind the screen (i havent seen it done yet ?)

Get yourself a Bloat - no need to go completely digital if you don't want 5.1.

The thing has 4v outputs and can be put right next to the amp (you just run a long usb cable if needed).

More info: here.
