First time installing Car PC....questions please help

So im installing my first system, and i have everything installed, wired up according to spec and seeing a few weird things.

1. My battery is reading at 17.6V while the engine is on and system is running. It is an Optima redtop battery. Do they show up as more voltage than normal batteries??

2. After the system has been running for about 10 mins it will randomly shut off. In order to turn it back on i need to dis connect power completely then start the car again.

My system consists of:

Optima red top battery 7586dt

MIA MB
Intel core2 duo
120GB SATA HDD
M2-ATX power supply
700TSV touch screen, connected to IGN wire
2 PG amps about 900watts of power, with cap

if you need more info please let me know.

Thanks so much in advance!!

No - your battery should not be showing 17v. How old is your car and more specifically, your alternator? The only batteries that you would put in your car that would show that are purpose built batteries SPECIFICALLY for SPL competition vehicles...they are 16v batteries.

As for the system turning off after 10 minutes...we need to know what it's doing. Does it hard shut off, does it go through the shut down procedure? Does the battery voltage correlate in any way with it shutting off (over voltage or under voltage?).

Red- its a 2002 VW GTI. When the system is shutting off, it is a hard shut off, but when i get it to turn back on it starts up like it was in standby mode. WTf?? right now i have it running with the car off just running on ACC and it has been running for 15mins so far with out issues, but i also have my amps off. would a bad alternator cause it to over charge?
