I don't know if you have this in the UK or not, but Sierra Wireless makes a CF and USB version of their Aircard. It essentially gives you internet connection from anywhere a cell phone (handy) can get signal. There is a separate monthly charge. The card retails for about $300 in the US, with service for about $80. But who pays retail? Ours was $50.00 with a 2 year contract and $60.00 a month. Kind of steep, but I presume the prices will fall as they become more popular.

Have a look at T-Mobile's Mobile Broadband, starts at £20/month
