Hardware/Software solution problem

I'm been reading through this site for quite some time and have tried other avenues to get the info I need. No luck. I'm an audio enthusiast. I'm trying to figure out a way to have full audio processing from the pc. I'm talking full crossover capabilities, slopes, frequencies, time alignment, etc. I need it for seven channels. I want to run tweets, midranges, mid bass speakers and subs, but I want full control over the audio signals from the PC. Is that possible? What sound card or other hardware option do I need, and/or what software is necessary to do that? I hope someone knows. I really want to do a car PC, but it hinges on the ability to process the audio signal to the fullest.
