RCA Jack for 2002 Volvo S60

Hi all,
I'm going to have a 2002 Volvo S60 in my hands by the end of the week. I want to hook up my Creative Zen Vision:M and occasionally my laptop to it. It has the stock audio system. Volvo has a special ipod hookup for it which uses the CD changer connector. Is there a way for me to just get an RCA jack or a 3.5mm line in jack on this thing? I see that there are plenty of adapters out there that do what I want such as the ones here: http://www.crutchfield.com/App/Produ...234650&tp=1184 but I don't know if any of these will work with this car. Anyone out there know what I can do?

Thanks,
Paul

I did some limited checking, and I don't see a normal input adapter for your car. You might be able to isolate the audio channels on the ipod adapter and make your own though. Someone else here might have a solution for you...

I doubt that would work with the ipod adapter, plus it's an $80 adapter which is just plain not worth it. Would I be able to use an adapter from a different brand or does it have to be Volvo? Do you think that I could hijack the audio line from the tape deck or the cd drive or is this all in one unit? I don't know much about car audio, this will be my first little mod.

I checked and I didn't see any adapters from any aftermarket companies either. If you have an external CD changer on this car, you can probably find the audio lines and hijack them, but I really don't have any experience with Volvo sound systems to be honest. I guess I am not a whole lot of help after all

Ehh I guess I'm jumping ahead of myself anyway. When I actually have the car in my hands, I'll take it apart and see what I can get out of it. I'm thinking that since it has a cassette drive and I don't plan on using it, I can just hijack the audio line from that. I don't own an external CD changer and it's not worth buying one for this, they cost way too much. When I take this apart, I'll take some pictures and post them up here. Thanks for the help.

Yeah, my goal is to stay away from a cassette adapter or FM transmitter because of sound quality issues.

I don't know one Volvo from another, but this is an adapter designed to interface the steeringwheel controls through the stock HU to an Ipod...but it also has additional RCA audio (and video) inputs to match with the stock Volvo setup.
