All in one carputers

I'm a newbie looking for an easy to install all in one, double din stereo/gps/mp3 player/ipod player/hands free calling/etc.

The only good option I've seen so far is the mp3car/infill G4. Are there any other good options to consider?

Well, if you're just looking for a "drop in" solution:

http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PU...n-Dash/AVIC-Z2

There's others out there too (google)

Depends on how much you want to spend..............

I'd wait for this, if you want to spend the money. Seems worth it though.

I checked out Pioneer and a few other big brand names, but found that either the hardware was limiting or the user interface was less then satisfactory. That's why I want to step up to a "carputer", more options.

I want something with good hardware options and that runs xp so I have software options too. Other then that I want to keep it as simple as possible. That's why I want an all in 1 unit.

Thanks for the navisurfer II suggestion. I'm looking into that.

If you want these specs, you are better off with either a laptop and a docking station or a mini-itx PC connected to a motorized or manual single-DIN screen. This allows you to control the quality of the hardware and install whatever software you want. Look into RoadRunner for a front-end. It does everything you want, is free, and has the largest development community. All of your other options are more costly, limited in expansion, or both.

Cheers

That is a nice setup. I didn't see the price, but their 1200 model will be pretty pricey at $2,799 USD.

How long are you willing to wait?

This product was "introduced" over a year ago and still hasn't seen a single consumer, as far as I know.

I will probably be buying a car pc this summer. If I see something that really blows me away I might be patient enough to wait longer.
