Newbie Question

First of all... hello, this is my first post! I want to start gathering supplies for my first carputer project. However I have a question. I was just looking through the forums and want to install a lcd touchscreen and have it control my pc. My question is... do I need a headunit to play music through the speakers or can I run the speakers straight from the computer? Any input would be helpful.

you have 2 options
1. use a head unit with aux-in input
2. use an amplifier wired in between your computer and your speakers.

your computer soundcard would not have the power to drive the speakers.

oh ok... so I would just have to get the necessary adapters to go from sound card to the amplifier, correct?

I'd recommend reading through this and any other FAQs to help answer your questions:
