New to this

Hi guys I just wanted to know if the CPU comes with the MOBO when I but a MOBO and what are all the important things needed to get a system going, Like do I need a Power supply and what is a decent one? I also wanted to know can I get any touch screen and do I use the VGA connectors or can I just use the s-video or RCA connector and if I do use these will my touch screen still work the same? Can someone please get back to me it would be grealty appreciated.

Thank You

It depends on what motherboard you get whether or not it comes with a CPU. Most standard motherboards don't. Some of the miniITX (It's a sizing standard) boards have the CPU permanently attached like a number of the ones from VIA. You are definitely going to need a power supply. What kind depends on your setup ask the guys who have been around longer for more help with that. I've been working with desktop PCs for years, but I'm brand new to the carPC scene, I've found the FAQs useful so far, also the search button is your friend. I don't know entirely about monitor connections in application here. I'm fairly certain the touchscreen part is connected with USB in most cases as a mouse.

The VIA and Intel Little Valley boards come with the processor.

You'll need a power supply. The type depends on what kind of computer you install. Check the FAQ link at the top for some info on power supplies. There's a guide to the FAQs at the link in my signature.

You should get a VGA touchscreen. The display will be much sharper and higher resolution than RCA or S-Video.

Will the touch screen still work if I don't get a VGA one, because I can't seam to find a VGA one for a good price and I am looking for the one that fold back into the headunit.

Touchscreen is completely separate from the type of screen. It should work fine.
