Car PC Dialog
I want to install a carpc and I have done a fair amount of research and perusal of not only the FAQs on this board, but other sites as well. I have a fairly narrow scope on how I'd like to implement this, unfortunately it has pigeon-holed me in a couple areas and I was hoping to get a discussion or dialog going to try and resolve some of the issues:
a] I would like to use a double-din touchscreen vga 'receiver' to eschew the need for an external amp and the extra work/space that entails.
b] I would like to be able to use the flip down door ('06 scion tc) to maintain a stock appearance.
c] I would like some form of apples 'coverflow' built into the API but using xp or linux.
d] I really would like to incorporate dash's new GPS technology that uses a p2p like approach to deliver instant, accurate traffic conditions but I already know that such a mod is not currently on their radar...so the next best traffic technology would have to suffice.
I haven't seen much discussion at all about projects using the VGA receivers as most of the users posting seem more than willing to cut/hack lilly/xenarc screens and wiring external amps.
Thanks in advance for anyone interested/knowledgeable enough to engage in this discussion. I'm open to product recommendations, arguments to reconsider choices, and pretty much anything that relates.
