Crutchfield said for instance that a Kenwood DDX 5120 would not fit, but I do not know what the limiting dimension is.
Thanks for your help.
You can use
Metra's web site or
Scosche's web site (both of which make adapters for cars), as well as
Crutchfield. I personally prefer Crutchfield, as they are more "complete" in their measurements then the others.
If you want more then Crutchfield's "doesn't fit" details, you have to first put in your vehicle specifics. Then, go to (what I'm calling) the vehicle summary screen, where it gives you the specific details and measurements for your car. Make note of the measurement in question (such as the depth), and then go to the section of the web site for the hardware you want (such as headunits).
Next, click on the link that says
unfilter so that it displays everything instead of just the results for your car. Find the headunit you want, click on it, and go through its product pages to find the dimensions or other details you need. Sometimes it's in the "Features and specs" page, sometimes in the "hands on", and sometimes you just have to go through the manual. Or, if you can't find the measurement in question in Crutchfield's pages, go to the manufacturer's pages or do a google search.
