My question is now that I have this radio is there a way to use this radio to set up a car PC? I would love to connected a PC to my car I think this is a very cool site and would like some help from anyone with my question.

Any Help would be great! Thanks for any help.

That's a nice unit, i wish i had known about it before buying an avic-d3 for a lot more. Any way, you may be able to hook-up a computer to it through the A/V input (if they are RCA's) but i have no experience doing that so hopefully somebody with real knowledge will chime-in.

In the mean time, look around in the site and read.

You can hook up a computer to it. You just need to find one that has a composite output (RCA or S-Video).

The touchscreen functionality might be a little bit hard though, because you'll need drivers. Check with Jensen and see if they have computer drivers for their screens. I did a quick google search and it doesn't look like they offer them, but if you contact them directly they may have something.

Can it be done? Possibly.
Will you do it? Probably not.
Is it practical? Not at all.

You're going to have to crack open your Jensen unit, reverse-engineer the touchscreen, rewire it for a USB or serial connection to the PC, then possibly write drivers for this setup.
And then, the touchscreen would only work on the PC, not control the headunit.

Someone hacked up a Kenwood touchscreen unit and pulled it off, so in theory it is certainly possible.
Are you willing to risk destroying your Jensen unit just to use the touchscreen on a PC?

Yeah. Good luck with that.
I'm certain than Jensen doesn't provide PC rivers for a touchscreen integrated in a unit that is not designed to be connected to a PC.
