I have a cable which connects the OBD port of my 1997 Honda CR-V to the serial port on my laptop. Using ScanMaster and ScanTool I cannot read codes on my PC. Do I need another piece of hardware between the car and the PC to convert the signal from the car to something my PC can read? like ASCII?
do I need something else?
