New Guy...Considering a VIA ARTiGO Pico-ITX

Been considering an in-car PC for a while and am interested in the Pico-ITX from VIA. Platform: 350z...use: Wi-fi, OBDII diag, and XM. I'm not totally confused about how to get all this to work...but I'm certainly not the expert.

After reviewing VIA's site and mini-itx.com, I'm nearly hooked on the Pico-ITX for its form factor and performance--I'm not going to be gaming or watching DVDs, or taking over global markets or the DoD from my car.

I've got a location for the system...but have yet to source a monitor for the cubby and am not really sure how my current head unit would interface w/the system.

Basic parts list--incomplete; not definite:
Main system:
SolidLogic X07P1 Pico-ITX Automotive System

Mp3Car USB adapter for XM Direct

ElmScan 5 USB OBD-II Scan Tool

Monitor:
???
CDROM:
???
Input:
Mini-Key USB Keyboard DGPN-570 --kinda like this little guy
Mouse ???
Misc:
WiFi ???

AS you can see, I've still got some research to do...any suggestions welcome.

I was studying that system last night. I love the size, and 4 USB ports could be made to work, but the thing I could not find anywhere was any information on the video. Just keeps saying VGA. No specs on memory or speed.

That would worry me. Other than that, looks like a great system for hiding.

Looking over that site....I am really REALLY liking these models with core duo....

Like the 137 for PCI (video) expandability, however, the video built into the 945 is probably more than enough. Maybe I just suffer from Tim Allen syndrome. lol MORE POWER!

Both would appear to work well for my application...we'll see...still doing the homework.
