Make use of All in one unit ?

Hi,
I am completely new to this things. Hope you guys can give me some input as to what's the best i can do.

Here is the problem, i have got one of those "double din touch screen bluetooth / tv / gps...etc " all in one headunit from ebay, somehow, i have stuff it up coz of modification on body that it won't fit properly in my car, so now the unit is pretty much sitting there and doing nothing.
Now i was just wondering if you guys know

1/ can those unit be modified to load windows or other type of os ?
2/ make use of the screen like those from liliput and make one carputer to hook it up to use with the screen
3/ take anything out from that unit to be used in carputer
4/ or any suggestion as to what are the things that i can use from the unit to build another better carputer or make use of it ??

At this stage, the unit is working find except the motor is not functioning properly, some of the gears is stucked i think. even if i fix it up, it will be not much use coz of the sound that out from that unit is pretty much no better than standard cheap headunit. so i am thinking if somehow it's possible to make it better or make use of the part to make another carpc .

hope you guys pro out there can give me some advise or suggestion.

Thanks.

1 - No.

2 - Doubtful, but you should check the product manual.

3 - No.

4 - Not very much, really.

Granted, it would be helpful if we knew the make/model of your headunit. Might be able to provide more detailed answers.

my advice is:

don't bother trying to make any use of it at all. re-sell it on eBay (but be honest about it's condition) and try to recover most of the money you spent on it. then use it towards the purchase of a touchscreen VGA monitor to start your carputer project

good luck
