Well I just decided to build myself a carpc, but I have a question for you knowledgeable folk. Will a 45W Athlon XP running at 2.3 generate too much heat? I'm planning an install like blko2si (
http://www.mp3car.com/vbulletin/fabr...ps-indash.html), I know that it might be overkill, but I already have a monitor and a spare Asus m2n-vm dvi board, and I can get the ram/cpu for under $100.
Before I do install it I want to get myself a deltran battery tender, and a new battery to stabilize the voltage in my car a bit better (a 97 galant which God willing will only be under my care until late this year or early next year when I get another car). Which brings me to another question: How safe is it for the pc to boost the car's battery in case it goes Kaput?

P.S DOH! scratch that the board is bigger than I remembered. No way that's fitting in my dash. Well back to the drawing board.... VIA or AMD???
