I have no idea what to do. A transflective screen would be great but i can't seem to find one besides the one MP3car.com sells but thats just way too expensive.

there are companies that will make your screen transflective (can't remember which, do a search).

cartft.com has some tmr open frames but might do a custom transflective.

I've been searching all morning and still haven't found anything worth wild. The companies that will make the screen transflective cost like 250 dollars and based on that i might as well just pay the 700 something for the mp3car.com's lilliput. I saw the CTF700-HM but in comparison to a transflective screen its just a disappointment. Have you had any experience with one of these anti-glare foils?

Yea i saw something like that. I saw this ctf400 and i figured i wouldn't be able to take it apart to get it to fit in my dash. I guess i can try and fabricate the dash to fit the entire screen. I have no idea to be honest.

i've seen a lot of ppl strip screens down sp it should be possible.

seems like cartft encourages custom stuff so you could probably start with the lowest open frame 7" ($388) and add options until you get what you really want for the same or less than the $750 mp3car wants.

OMG U ARE RIGHT!!!!!!! Thanks cause i know they would've let me pay that 19% lol.. I just did some research and apparently i have two screens i'm debating on. The Xenarc 702TSV which isn't transflective but its SUPER bright and there is the the LinITX 7" Transflective. These are both nice looking

http://www.mp3car.com/vbulletin/lcd-...tness-wow.html

I didn't find any pictures of the Xenarc screen but shoot its 1000nit so its gotta be bright

yeah. my (general) question is what do you really need? without having any actual experience its just a bunch of numbers. since i won't be driving my car too much (show car) i'm not really looking to go all out and will get either the phylon or cartft open frames.

I will actually be driving my car everyday so i will need to be able to see it in sunlight. I do intend on tinting my car but from what i've read it doesn't fix this problem so i figure tint with one of these transflective screens has to make it look really nice
