Unhappy SUPER Newbie Instructions to remove Impreza Factory Radio

I am trying to remove my factory installed radio on a 2006 Subaru Impreza and having no luck. I tore apart the entire passenger and driver side dash and could not get access to the stereo. I just want to install an FM direct adapter. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!!!

Thanks!!
