Well your door remote tells your alarm brain to send a signal out a certain port and down a wire connected to that port. What you would need to do is connect that wire to the on/off pins on your motherboard so they get jumped whenever you hit the button. Furthermore, you'd have to somehow regulate the voltage in that wire to be the proper amount needed to jump the pins.

This is simply my assumption of how it should work.

Upon doing a little searching, why would you cross post?

And why would you need this if you're selling your car PC?

okie thanks..
i do know that i have to jump both the pins of the CPU for it to turn on.
but i don't understand how one wire will be able to connect both the pins, since if you want to connect wire to the pins, it will be permanently connected...

maybe you can assist me on that??

to answer your questions, i posted twice because i thought that maybe my question was too amateur to be posted in power and that maybe it is irrelevant and thus, no one is answering my questions... so i decided to post in the newbie zone hoping to get an answer.

and for the 2nd question, my friend fried my previous LCD monitor when we were installing it in so i decided to scrap the carPC project altogether.
But he kindly decided to buy me a replacement for it, and since i have already wired the carPC, i decided to go ahead with the project. Thus, making me a regular visitor to this forums for more advise from experts like you.

haha you made me laugh with your friendly sarcasm!

I'm not exactly sure how the wire works to jump the pins, I guess it'll have to be 2 wires with a one-way gate of some sort so that power only flows one way. And when the gates open, the pins jump, the computer turns on. I don't really know, try Google.

its very simple, get a bi-stable relais. and 3 diods.
Cut the wire to one of your door motors. connect to wires to the cut wire and put in both wires a diode. Also connect your door engine to it.

Put the to wires on the biostabiel. also connect a permanent minus, and to be really save put the 3d diode in this wire.

Now you need a permanent 12+ connect that to one and of the relais, and the other to your m2 remote. Put the 2 wires of your mobo on the m2.

And presto it works.

Just taking the above diagram one step further, maybe you gould wire the relay to the dome light wire instead? Not sure how yours works, but my dome light only comes on when I hit the "unlock" button, not the "lock" button...

Unless you WANT it to soft power off when you lock the doors, which might be a good thing, or a big fat PITA if you get in and out of it often.

Curiosity

A door lock actuator is usually forward or reverse polarity depending on lock or unlock, so the diagram Injector has work work well. You don't need the diode. Tap into one wire of the actuator and the relay will click for one direction and do nothing for the other. If it clicks when you lock the car then you connected to the wrong side.

You'll also need to fake the ACC depending on the SDC or whatever power supply you are using, so you get power to the PC.

I use the diods to be on the save side, the alarm oparates the door, and i don't want to fry the alarm.

The way i explaind worked for me over a year now.

You might want to make 1 extra option, witch is, send an of to the bi-stabiel relais and have a second relais take over the remote wire, this way when you switch of the car, you don't need to lock the car for the mobo to be off.
