Hey to everybody. ive been reading up for the last few days so thought it might be an idea to sign up. Anyway i drive a 2003 VW Bora (jetta mk IV to yous over in the states) 1.8t AUG (180) car is pretty much standard with only a few minor mods.
Looked into putting a computer in the car a few years ago when i had my civic set up with TV, PS2 and sound system. at the time (3 years ago) there was no way i could have afforded anything having just bought my house. Anyway the Alpine head unit and CD changer i had could easy handle all my music, 700mb a cd X 6 discs in the changer and 1 in the head unit meant i had plenty to keep me going Christ i drove down to London, 6.5 hrs away, and back on 2 discs.
However now i have the bora and although i have the same cd player and channger, different amps and subs. im after someone that can do more for me. those who have the 1.8 turbo engine will know that a lot can go wrong with it and even more info can be pulled from it. So rather than having to have the laptop with me im looking at building a budget system that can handle my music videos maybe gps ( if i can find a decent one, have used autoroute in the past with a gps reciver ) and obd2 ( currently using vagcom )
Anyway looking at picking up loads of info from the site
