Juan_Bardez is an unknown quantity at this point
Very new to CarPCs, where do I start?

Apologies for being a bother, but I am currently trying to outfit my car with a pc like double din unit. I've bben looking at brand publicly available units, and none of them seem to have all or any of the functions i require/desire. Therefore, I come to you. I have been searching around this site for roughly a month now, watching in aw as you people make these extraordinary things. I am no programmer and not much of an electrician. I digress, I love my Macbook pro and would deeply love a headunit with the same interface as my computer. The problem is, I have no idea how to do this.

is there hope?

The best thing I can tell you is read thru some of the FAQs, look at others installs, and research, research, research. There are always people here that will help with specific questions.

It's going to be a fairly hard road for you to travel, but we all have to start somewhere.

What you may do also is look around for some double din solutions until you find one you like, and have your local car audio specialist install it for you.

And if you're looking to go mac, there are quite a few Mac-Mini installs. Only one I can think of off the top of my head is BugByte's install.
