GPS/XM sharkfin antenna (i really did search)
Hello guys, im nearing completion of my carpc, now im just looking for an antenna that can multi task. Ive been going crazy googleing and searching mp3car. Hopefully all you geniuses can help me. I am looking for a sharkfin style antenna that can do gps and xm. If it can do anything else it would be awesome, but those 2 are my main concern. I saw the antenna that is on mp3store but it doesnt have XM. also if someone can point me in the direction of a gps reciever with capable external antenna that works with centrafuse i would greatly greatly appreciate it!! Thanks again! (and i swear i really did search but could find nothing that pertained to making a new antenna and not using oem or just stuffing the BU353 into a dummy)

I have not been through it all, but http://www.badland.co.uk/products.php might have something for you?
Or you could go for the real deal.. buying the BMW antenna:
Follow this link: http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts...40&hg=65&fg=30 to find what partnumber you want, and then go to your local Bavaria/BMW dealer and order it.
GSM, GPS and DAB Radio... (and if I'm not mistaken, you ca use the DAB part for your XM).

thank you so much for your help!!! i really really appreciate it. if i could trouble you for one more thing, do you have any recommendations for a gps receiver that can connect to the sharkfin and is compatible with centrafuse? ive been looking for a guide to convert DAB to XM but i cant seem to find anything. Is it a straight connect and DAB is just another name for XM/Sirius? or is there more to it? thanks in advance!

I recently did this..... i bought one of those dummy shark fin for VW opened it up and put my bu-353 in and my xm antenna, I get crappy reception from the xm antenna but i think it was from the twisting and testing the antenna on the base

the xm (little one ) its upside down....

Can someone explain to me what exactly you're doing here? How do you get the USB cable from the antenna to your computer to send the signal? Is it wireless?

in that pic the gps is disconnected thats why there is no cable.. the connector its small enough that fits through the opening of the antenna. now the xm antenna I had to cut it in order to pass the cable through the opening..
and then just run the cable to the carputer which is the trunk so its not a long run for the cable
sorry I only took that pic..

its been raining a lot down here in florida and everything its still working fine it has a rubber that goes between the car and the antenna that prevents water from going in into the bottom of the antenna.
my gps its that same one you have the bu-353 I took it out of the enclosure that it has and put inside.

My BU-353 works perfectly hidden under my dash. So I only have the standard XM antenna on the roof, as it does not works so well inside the car.

To clarify, does the DAB feature work as a Sirius antenna? Is there somewhere where we can see what the connectors look like? i would like to hook up my Alpine N872A nav and Alpine sirius tuner to one antenna on the roof if posible, not opposed to using BMW hardware, if it is plug-and-play

I was wondering more about cutting a hole in the roof of the car, not the antenna.
