Fairly simple question relating to touch screens
Hi there,
I have just purchased a carputer (still waiting for delivery hence this question) and need to know if my touchscreen double din DVD player's touchscreen will work with it?
If it won't then what do I need to do/buy in order for it to work?
Thanks in advance for any help.
PS. Please keep the answers simple as I'm a COMPLETE noob, much obliged.

No. (I'll expand that to be Highly unlikely)

A new VGA screen with a standard USB touchscreen

Bad Mod.
Point newbies to the FAQs: http://www.mp3car.com/vbulletin/advfaq.php
Although, I think that this is yet another example of how the link to the FAQs is completely buried in the forum navbar across the top. If the mods can't locate it, how do you expect the newbies to find it?

You never found that link, did you? Why? It's hard to find in the NavBar across the top of the forums, amongst a lot of other crap.
TELL MP3CAR YOU WANT A LINK TO THE FAQ IN A MORE OBVIOUS, NOTICABLE LOCATION HERE.

Thanks for the help people, I really appreciate it. By the way I did already check the FAQ's but I couldn't find an answer.
It's all about purchasing a Space Navigator (damn expensive!) then.

Or a Griffin Powermate - less expensive. Remember that your text will look fuzzy and the screen display won't be as nice or vivid as a VGA screen.

I guess I'm going to have to live with that because I don't want to spend more money buying a new screen.

However I would not recommend going that route as your display will be fuzzy (assuming your connecting the screen via rca) and you'll be doing s fair amount of work to install the touchscreen overlay to make it look neat and functional.
I'm always amazed that people don't want to spend money on a proper vga touchscreen screen when imo it's the most important part of a car pc. It's the only hardware that you will interface with the most and believe me going any other route for input control is a big mistake.

check ebay-- i have seen 7" vga touch screens for as cheap as $40-$70-- well worth the investment, though some will complain about sunlight readablility on cheaper monitors.

And...before you ask....no, there is no adaptor to share the DVD HU touchscreen AND the PC. This is why Enforcer answered the way he did - highly unlikely.

This Q deserves a spot in FAQ - Mods? (is it there already?)
