AspireRevo power supply question

Hi there..I'm looking to start the hobby of car pcs..I've been into computers for 15 years, been programming for about 8 of those, but never really got into electronics much, and I'm about as 'car dumb' as they get. Just some background

I have two purchases recently of Intel 230 ION based systems...one is a custom built M350 cased zotac 230

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813500028

The other was an acer aspirerevo nettop

I also ordered an M2-ATX, thinking that the innards of these cases has ATX power supplies...and believing my biggest challenge would be figuring out where to get 12v from and finding my ignition wires.

Turns out..the computers I have both have external power bricks, and no ATX slots on the motherboards .

The aspirerevo has a power brick that says 19v at 3.42 amps. One more bit of info is that I do have an inverter in my garage if I look around.

I'm asking the pros here basically: What's the best course of action?

1) Sell off my aspirerevo and start over?
2) work with the inverter, but lose thump protection and ignition on/off
3) pay the 100 bucks for a carnetica 1900 system
4) Is there another solution I'm totally missing?

Right now I'm 200 bucks into the aspirerevo, plus I need to spend another 40 to up the ram (it had a gig in it, i'm going to put it to 4 gigs). I got the M2 from HK for 28. I'm trying to stop the money pit so I can get a powered pc going and think about stuff like dashes, screens amps/frontends. Any suggestions/help is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Joe

Carnetix P1900 or P2140.

You could also get an auto adapter for a laptop that requires 19v and use that for power.
You would still need to find a means of powerin the unit on or off with ignition (assuming that is your plan).

This is a perfect example of why all the old-timers here suggest that you plan your build before you start purchasing components.

You never found that link, did you? Why? It's hard to find in the NavBar across the top of the forums, amongst a lot of other crap.

TELL MP3CAR YOU WANT A LINK TO THE FAQ IN A MORE OBVIOUS, NOTICABLE LOCATION HERE.

How about a laptop power supply for the revo..then adding something like the xobyte? a simpler wake process..?
