Question about BIG 8-pin DIN

Hi everyone.
I recently got a Hitachi 5" Car Color Display from a friend. It looks exactly like this one:
Image

It only has 1 BIG 8-Pin DIN socket and a matching cable.
Both sides of the cable are also the BIG 8-Pin DIN.

I would like to know, how can I convert this so that I can have normal AV/RCA/s-video input? And where does it get power from?

I searched all around the net, the closest I could find was a MINI 5-pin DIN to RCA. But since it is from a nother brand I do not know if the pin layouts would be the same.

Please help~!

wow!!! thats a tough one.

i would start by posting the model number of the screen. perhaps there is some info out there pertaining to that particular model.

off the top of my head, i would think that it is some sort of component color input, but what im also thinking is that this was for some sort of proprietary video system, like an early conversion van television display.

toss some more info up here and see what we can do for you.

thanks a lot mike
the model number is : Hitachi DPS-T201A 5" car color display
i tried searching on google and yahoo but there were no results.
it says it's made in japan, and it has a US 1-800 number, therefore i'm sure it is available in US.
Thank you very much~

Please help~!
