If it's CD only, then the only way to get music from the laptop through your stereo is to plug in through the AUX inputs. Your stereo may need an adapter before you can use the inputs. Check the manual or the manufacturer's website for what is required. If it will work out of the box with no extras, then all you have to do is connect a cable from the laptop's speaker out (headphone) jack to the stereo's inputs. The cable for this can be found at any electronics store.
Hope I could help!
Yeh the HU wont be a hard drive unit just a wma/mp3/cd player. So in order to do this i will need to buy a head unit that has AUX inputs that is if i dont want to search around for an adapter. Then its just one cable running from laptop to head unit (while having the laptop run on its own power supply). since the laptop isnt playing the music only sending it to the head unit will i still need a high end soundcard or wont it matter? Also does the lap top need special software? or just a basic media player?
correct me if im wrong but basically all the laptop is doing is playing+sending music to the head unit (then speakers) so it can be heard that means ill need a high end sound card hay thx dudes lol think i just anwsered my own question
