big power in small space

Hey guys been reading the forum for months, and finally decided to get started on my carputer. I have a '99 Chevy S10 pickup truck, regular cab, manual trans. therefor giving me a very small space to work with. I wanted to ask the pros a few questions before i start buying my parts.

Main usage of PC will be for mp3, divX/Xvid, and eventually GPS. Was wondering what would be a good LCD screen for this, if i can get away with not buying a Lilliput 7" touch it would be nice .

Another question is about mounting the LCD in the dash. i have a few pictures below one of the dash then one that i puked out in photoshop. hehe. seems like a lot of work rerouting AC controls, mounting HU in ashtray, then LCD in dash.

any advice would be great.

I have a 98 Blazer, so we have the same interior. This is not mine, but how I plan to mount the LCD. It's a 10.4". You can also take your AC/Heat controls and put it where your ashtray is right below.

is that an actual 10.4 installed or just a photoshopped image? also if i put the ac controls where the ashtray is then where do you think a good spot would be for the head unit?

if that was photoshopped than that guy should be making a lot of money doing celebrity body swaps... I think it's an actual install.
