I'm ready to do the install. Here is my setup...

I've completed getting my components together for the carputer. Here is everything that I got and my wiring plan. This is going into my 99.5 Audi A4.

Shuttle XPC SK41G Running WinXP Pro
AMD Duron 1.4GHZ underclocked to 1.05GHZ
Onboard video
Onboard sound (for now)
80GB HD
256MB RAM
Power Inverter (got it for free)
MPEGBOX Shutdown Controller
X10 RF/IR Remote
In-dash TM-702L monitor (with panasonic panel) (another freebee)
JL 450/4 amp (already installed)
JL Speakers all around (already installed)
Infinity Basslink (10" powered sub) (already installed)

For the wiring:
4 gauge power running from battery to the trunk where it will go into a distribution block with 3 outs:
8 gauge -> JL Amp
8 gauge -> Basslink
12 gauge -> SDC -> Inverter -> PC (I wish I could use 8 gauge to the controller but I don't think it will fit.)

Remote wire running from the LCD screen to the SDC -> amps and PC powerbutton.

I hope I didn't leave anything out!

I'm in SLC and I'd love to see your setup. Mine is installed and working great. I have a text lcd and pioneer steering wheel remote plugged into a usb hub in the glovebox up front, with a epia/sproggy/neutered itps/60gig/slim cd in a gutted cd changer box in the trunk. All connections (usb, sound, power-on lead from HU, 5v from sproggy to hub, everything but the 8 gauge power line direct to the battery) are run through custom connectors I made to use the 13pin cd changer cable that was already there.

Ease of use while driving and minimizing the possibility of distraction from the road were some of my biggest priorities, and I think I nailed it. Someday I'll have enough time to post some pics and more description.
