Tips for my project

Hi all!
I've decided to put a pc in my car....
I red some useful site like dashpc.com, mp3car.com and some other italian sites....
My project si a little bit different than any other because I want to use my pc also as a standalone htpc.
My problem is: power supply!

-the easiest and cheaper way is use an atx psu and an inverter, but atx psu is too big and inverter has too many interference, if I'm not wrong...
-the second way is leave my pc without ps and put atx and molex connector on the back of the pc-box (I think I can build a DIN-size case) adn use the opus dc-dc ps in the car an a normal atx psu at home. The cons are costs and look: I have to buy the not-so-cheap opus dc-dc converter and a normal atx psu
-the third way, I think it's the best, to use a dc-dc like pw-70a inside the box, put a normal dc connector on the back of the box and use a voltage regulator in car and a notebook psu at home.

I don't want to have startup/shutdown controller, because I'll build a swicth panel to control everything (pc, tft, ampli...)

What do you suggest me?
Is there any alternative to these solutions?
Is there any alternative to pw-70a?
I saw ITPS, but it's not good for me... is there any voltage regulator out there?

thanks in advance and sorry for my english!
cheers!

If you're not bothered about automagic shutdown/startup, and your not bothered about it restarting if you start your engine, then something like this will suffice: -

I thought about it...
I'm sure I don't want any startup/shutdown controller, but I think a reset-on-cranking-saver would be nice... how can I resolve this?

anyway, does any adapter like the one you posted have a voltage regulator? I mean, output is always 12V?
thanks!

I found the unswiched 12V supply for the car stereo!
Duting cranking the supply goes down to 10V, or better, to a value > 10V but < 11V...

I think if I find an adapter that has a Vin from 9/10V to 15/16V(or more), I'll have a cranking-survival-system!!!!

thanks a lot,
bye
