Punto Dash install?

The following dash is about 11" and I want to put a 7" lilliput in. Do you rekon it can be done, I mean its got venting things on the bottom?

Secondly can I get this part from fiat, I want to have a stock part ready to put back in if I ever sell the car. Cheers.

If you don't mind losing the vents it can be done. If you want to keep your vents it can still be done but it'll come up a little higher than the top of that trim piece. It's a little more work but I could do it.
And yes, you can order that part from the dealer to return the car back to stock again.

One thing that most people dont really think about is the fading of the parts of the dash. You may want to cut up the new part and save the old one, as the new one may not match 100% to the weathered interior. Im sure that if you cant find it at the dealer, you should be able to in a yard.

I don't understand, cut up the new one or the old?!? The car is pretty new so probably isn't very faded. If I cut up either then when I put the stock part back in it will be out of sync but I'll cross that bridge when I come to it.

Ok I have no experience in doing this sort of thing. Basically that head unit you see there is in tatters (I raged at it and left it in a state). I'm at a crossroads, I don't want to purchase a new head unit because it will end my dream of a carputer. I don't know if I can do it properly though, with no experience is it likely that I could get that screen installed professionally? btw I don't care about blocking the vents as long as it doesn't do damage, I read on another thread it just pushes the air out the others harder which is fine. Cheers for your help!

If the car is fairly new you don't have to worry about any fading. You could get that professionally installed. Just check with your local car audio shops. Or if you want I can do it for you.
Blocking the vents would be the best looking way to go. And the air will get rerouted to the other vents making them stronger.
