lcd question

i really have no idea what i'm doing. i just started thinking that I might want a carputer. I have a laptop and i thought i could stick it under the seat and then just get a touchscreen lcd and voila. now what i want to know is if the Lilliput 7" XGA Touchscreen GROUP BUY, (being offered on this forum) is what i should get. (if not what good deals are there)

I have windows xp and mediacar installed on my laptop, is it hard configuring it with touchscreen, or is is automatic. Also how does the laptop connect to the lcd. I know these are very trivial questions, so thank you for answering.

You'd generally plug it in to the monitor (vga) ort on the laptop and away you go. You may want to consider resolution, the Lilli is typically 800 x 480 I believe but will support 800x600 albeit "squashed".

Touchscreens are generally a breeze to use, it usually plugs in just like a mouse would and away you go.

what is it about the resolution i should consider. Is that going to be a problem for me, i will mostly be using it for music and navigation so the resolution isn't all that important. i won't be watching movies or tv on it.

also i have a factory stereo how do i connect my laptop to it so i can use the stereo volume controls on the stereo, and link it into my car speakers.

navigation and music are the only task that really requires good resolution...tv and movies don't :-p

Read the newbie FAQ, it answers your 'connection' questions.
