Line converter with a Delco Bose system?

I'm nearing the completion of my carputer, but I haven't decided how I'm going to get the sound from my PC to my car yet (93 Z28). I've been thinking about using a line converter to pipe sound directly into the exsisting Delco Bose system to save myself the headache of replacing the factory amp and wiring. This is what I was looking at using:

Has anyone used one of these or something close with a Bose factory system? Had any luck? Any problems anyone can forsee?

I'm not looking for a brain rattling stereo system or anything, as long as the quality is average or so I'd probably be happy.

I found one thread mentioning something similar, but his car uses a different system:

If I am reading that correctly, that is a harness to allow you to use an aftermarket head unit. That in itself will not be enough to get sound in...it would allow you to use an aftermarket head unit that has aux in, if that is what you want to do....

I'm not entirely sure either TBH. My thought was I could hook this to my stereo harness and the other end to my sound card, but it sounds like you don't think that will work. I'm going without any HU, just my PC.

I was assuming that I could wire the 'in' side to my sound card and all would be happy (that was my hope anyway). What else could I use to be able to hook my PC into my Delco Bose amp/speakers?

I'm sort of out of my league with car stereo equipment

Find a small cheap 4 channel amp with line-in, connect that to a 21 pin harness, and plug it in.

I should have thought of that sooner!

That's probably a good idea. But isn't that like hooking the cheap amp up to the Bose amp? I have no idea what would happen doing it like this (I haven't messed with car audio stuff in at least 16 yrs!).

I purchased a IECPSI2 shown here and a harness to plug into my existing wiring (out to the Bose amp and speakers). I found some documentation here. If I'm reading this right, shouldn't I be able to wire the speaker lines shown on the diagram directly to the audio out on the sound card (ie, where the 'aftermarket radio' is listed on the first diagram)?

I probably need to post a diagram of what I'm talking about. Here's a hacked together MS Paint diagram of roughly what I'm talking about.

Any feedback is welcome - I'd like to avoid smoking my amp or anything

Edit: I just noticed the diagram doesn't show my Bose amp... oops. It's in there positioned before the speakers.

Hi JGeek. Sorry, I just noticed your new message. That should work as long as the HU doesn't power the tweeters. In the cars with the Monsoon, it does. That's why I was said to get a small amp. Maybe I shouldn't have said cheap?

Here's a link that described the stereo and pinouts. Here's an idea. If you unplug the amp and still hear sound, then it won't work.
