Some questions :)

I have some questions I can't seem to find the answer for, so I’ll try here to see if I can get some response

Question 1.
In mediacar you have the Visualization button when you are listening to mp3's but when i click on that button the visualizations don’t go to full screen, I have to right click the screen and select full screen. That’s kinda hard doing with a touch screen

How can I make the visualization go to full screen straight away after clicking the VIS button. And how to you get out of the visualization without using your mouse (I dont have a mouse and keyboard in my car).
(In mediaengine you can just double "tap" the screen to get out of the visualization)

Question 2.
I still don’t have an DVD-ROM in my setup yet, I can't seem to find a good slim DVD-ROM that support Firewire (or maybe USB2) Preferably Firewire though.
Can anyone recommend me a good slim DVD-ROM that isn’t that expensive. Doesn’t matter if it is slot or tray. Do all external DVD-ROM need external power or is it enough to get power from the usb port?

Question 3.
I bought a 4 ports USB2 hub a week ago but the problem is that I have to use a second usb port to provide power to the usb hub. I think thats kind of stupid to only gain 2 usb ports on a 4 ports hub so I was thinking about making my own power input to the hub, taking power from the car battery instead of taking power from a usb port. How much power does a USB port provide (v) and how many mAmp does it need?

I know that a USB provides a 5V supply, up to a maximum of 10W (i think) which means the max current available is 2A.

you would be much better off pulling the 5v from the computer psu, (the red wire on the molex connector) than from the battery. it is regulated, unlike the car battery, whos voltage can jump as high as 18v, a good way to fry your usb stuff. but i have read that even the psu's 5v rail isnt regulated enough for usb, as the usb controller has filters in itself. this will work, but it *may* cause system instability. if worst comes to worst, just undo your wiring.

You can get an enclosure that connectos to USB or firewire that will accept any CD/DVD drive.
Here's a couple for the slim-style drives: Realvision, Baber
This one from Bestsonic is both firewire and USB 2.0.

If you have a slim-line drive already, then you can replace it with the drive type you want. I'm sure a search on EBay will net you some results for a slim DVD or DVD/CDRW combo. Hell, go for a DVDRW. Why the hell not?
