I got about 8 more gigs of bandwidth than i know what to do with. I am hosting FTP servers for forums i go to, on my second domain name.

at:

www.manwhoring.com.


if you want to use this hosting, then here's how.

server = ftp.manwhoring.com
UID = mp3car@thawall.net (sorry about that, only way it allows me to make them)
Pass = Music

Like i said, i got more bandwidth than i know what to do with. I really dont care what you do with it, so long as it's not illegal. you could use this to host images, Ebay Auction images, whatever. i doubt i'll find a use for the bandwidth for a long time to come, so dont worry about it going away.


if anyone has any ideas as to what i could use the domain name manwhoring.com for, tell me.


EDIT: also... when loading stuff to it, Let's keep it clean by loading it to your own personal folder with your username here on it.

I got nothing on there that'd be worth bothering with.

if i get hacked and it taken over, i contact my host and tell em to kill it.

besides it's not like i give this kind of hosting to AT or places like that. :P

hey, my rules are pretty simple :P

i got 8 gigs spare, it's not like people are gonna come swarming. i know this place has a bit of lurkers, but i'm a pretty charitable person. if they can find a (legal) use for it, abiding by my rules, then by all means.

I think you people may be assuming the ftp access i give you gives you any access to the core of the site. it in fact doesnt. it gives you access to 1 folder of one domain of the site.

Personaly, I think this is a good idea. Images are hosted by mp3car.com, but any other type of file, we can just upload there now. I wouldn't find it all that bad if in a few months it became common practice to be see posts like "I got a new video from my car-cam uploaded... go check it out on the ftp".

I can't connect, I was going to stick some mp3car files there, what am I doing wrong? IE doesn't like it becaues of the @ int he name it seems, the command line ftp just fails the login everytime. I tried mp3car "at" manwhoring.com, .net music, Music

Am I doing something stupid..?

Once that's loaded, go to File>>Login As
Enter user/pass supplied at the top of the post.
